The Legacy of Bill Canfield
Bill Canfield was an avid angler and friend of the rivers and streams of the Catskills region. He loved seeing kids fall in love with this sport. When Bill passed away, his family set up a fund to help kids do just that.
Friends of the Upper Delaware (FUDR) decided to help with this project. Today, the camp organization partners with FUDR, French Woods Sports & Arts Center, and over a dozen volunteers to host and teach kids for two one-week sleep-away camp sessions every summer.
The FUDR/Bill Canfield Fly Fishing Camp officially started in 2012 and to date has introduced over 150 young teens to the awesome world of fly fishing. Today, Bill’s passion lives on with each new camp session. The FUDR/Bill Canfield Fly Fishing Camp has become a huge success.
