2024 Camp Recap

Session 1 June 23-30 and Session 2 August 4-11

Session 1 kicked off with 14 awesome kids from the Upper Delaware River area and throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. We were especially happy to greet our two contest winners Caden and Niccolo who won a free week of camp in our drawing at the end of March. All new campers received new rods and reels to keep. We kicked off Monday with a casting clinic and practice on the French Woods Training Pond where small mouth bass kept everyone busy. Tuesday we hit the river for an entomology and conservation lesson, seining for bugs, and testing out our waders. Wednesday was fly tying day. Several patterns were made which campers used the next day on the Beaverkill for an epic day of fishing and a cookout lunch in beautiful weather. Friday was a highlight as our largest group ever completed a float trip from Balls Eddy to Shehawken. Finally, Saturday we explored the Catskill Fly Fishing Museum for a fascinating bamboo rod demonstration and ended with graduation and a HUGE thank you to all of our mentors, guides and volunteers!  You all make the magic happen and we could not do it without you!

Session 2 is sure to be an awesome week as we welcome another 15 kids to camp (our largest class ever!).
